United Western Enterprises, Inc. Participated in the Design-2-Part Show in Orlando
June 2023United Western Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to share that we participated in this year’s Design-2-Part Show in Orlando, FL. The two-day event occurred at the Orange County Convention Center on May 2nd and 3rd, 2023. We were located in Booth 130 and enjoyed speaking with and meeting everyone that stopped by.
What is the Design-2-Part Show?
The Design-2-Part Show is the southern region’s largest contract manufacturing and design trade show. It attracts over 5,000 visitors each year and hosts between 100 and 500 exhibitors. The show helps connect American suppliers of custom-made parts and manufacturing services with potential customers.
Why was the Design-2-Part Show important to UWE?
Participating in the Design-2-Part Show allowed us to showcase our advanced technologies and photo etching and fabrication services. We established relationships with people from various industries, including aerospace, medical device technology, and the automotive industry.
In addition, UWE also received media coverage related to innovative processes developed by our highly skilled engineers for manufacturing precision components at lower costs than traditional methods. Overall, this event was an important opportunity for UWE because it provided us with connections we may not have been exposed to otherwise.
As a result, the tradeshow helped spur growth potential both in the southern region of the United States and on a global scale, allowing us to reach new markets nationwide. This helped us further expand our presence within each industry that requires customized solutions to satisfy their unique needs for quality parts delivered on time based on their requirements.
What is photo etching?
Photo etching is the process of fabricating parts using photochemical machining, also known as chemical milling or photo fabrication. This technique uses photosensitive polymer resins coated onto metals such as steel, aluminum, and brass to create complex shapes used for precision components in applications.
It consists of processes like coating a metal sheet with a photosensitive material, exposing it to light-sensitive adhesive stencils called transparencies under UV light, and then developing them inside an acidic developer tank after washing off any exposed areas of the substrate.
They are then etched at high temperatures using hydrochloric acid solutions, followed by plating operations where they receive protective coatings needed for further treatments depending on the customer’s requirements.
About United Western Enterprise, Inc.
United Western Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1969 in Santa Monica, CA. We initially began as a support facility for a publishing company and soon grew to the point where we were producing parts for other companies as a custom-job shop.
In 1978, we moved to Newbury Park, CA as our business grew and we entered the aerospace industry. From there, we expanded into the biomedical and consumer electronics industries. Thanks to our continued growth, we moved to our current 21,000-square-foot facility in Camarillo, CA in 1992.
Today, we continue to provide photo etching services and have recently added processing graphic film for our customers. For further information about our services, contact us at 800-964-6461 today.
